History

1967: The Company was founded by two brothers, Albert and Isacco Schinasi, initially as the Italian branch of Hogg Robinson and Gardner Mountain, one of the best-known Anglo-Saxon brokers. In the early years, they built relations with important Italian businessmen, mainly in Veneto and South Tyrol areas.

1969: Schinasi (at that time Hogg Robinson & Gardner Mountain Spa) was one of the 10 founding members of AIBA, the professional association that nowadays represents 80% of Italian insurance brokers.

1981: The Company became completely Italian. In the following decades, Schinasi gradually grew through a measured and cautious development intended to provide an excellent level of service to the clients.

1997: The second generation, represented by the founders’ nephew Philippe Sainz, joined the company, and started a project of international growth.

2009: Schinasi Insurance Brokers GmbH was established in Vienna, as 100%-owned subsidiary with two purposes: to develop a portfolio of domestic clients to strengthen the international outreach and to reinforce the historic connection with industries in South Tyrol. The group aimed to match the changing needs of those client companies who had developed an international approach and Schinasi wanted to support them by providing international insurance programmes.

2010: Schinasi increased its territorial presence:

• A branch in Bolzano was established, dedicated to provide service to SMEs, public bodies and professionals in Trentino and South Tyrol areas.
• The placement of international outgoing insurance programs was expanded by strengthening the correspondents network in those countries where our clients operations took place.

2019: Schinasi joined Bardo, an association of trade credit specialty brokers.

2020: The company strengthened its territorial and international presence:

• Schinasi Insurance Brokers GmbH joined Credea, an association of trade credit specialty brokers, as Austrian representing member.
• Schinasi completed the acquisition of 100% of shares of Ruberti Srl. Ruberti is an insurance broker based in Veneto, in an area with a high industrial concentration, and is close to the local business network. This operation aimed to empower the market development of that area, thanks to the synergistic effect between Ruberti’s partners relationships with local entrepreneurs and Schinasi’s longstanding connections with its own insurance providers.

Today: the expertise acquired over the years provides our staff with the necessary tools to perform as reliable professionals. We can offer to our clients an excellent service, that is in step with the times; we ensure transparent cooperation to insurance operators in accordance with each individual’s role. We keep on putting in good use our founders’ legacy, but always focusing on the future.
